Gear
Garmin 405
I bought this for myself after I volunteered at the NYC Marathon in 2009 because, as a thank-you, NYRR gave me some awesome percentage off their online store and with the discount, the price was definitely right. I'd run almost exclusively on treadmills before I bought this, and having this little tool to tell me how far I've gone helped me feel like I had more options. I like knowing how fast/slow I'm going, and I like that it's easily uploaded onto a convenient site that lets me track my progress. It's a little big, but I bought a fabric strap that I switched the plastic strap out for and now it fit's great!

Lululemon Turbo Run Shorts
Yup, they're expensive, but THEY ARE AMAZING. I ran both marathons in these shorts, and I had absolutely ZERO chafing. That, my friends, is a feat. I've run 5 miles in non-Lululemon shorts and had chafing. Buy these shorts. You will not regret it!

More to come!
